While the State of Georgia Governor’s Office has indicated we allowed to begin reopening as of April 24, we will remain closed through April 30. Beginning May 1, we will reopen in a limited capacity with newly implemented safety protocols for the health of our practitioners, instructors, clients, and students.
Some classes will remain as virtual classes through Zoom, while others will return to in-studio instruction. In-studio classes will be limited to 6 students, require pre-registration and payment (no drop-ins), and will have increased cleaning protocols after class.
Services will be limited in terms of how many clients we can see each day and week, how far we space them apart, when you can enter the building, and checkout procedures, along with enhanced safety measures regarding hand washing and PPE. More details will be provided to you upon booking your appointment. Clients with standing appointments and those who had appointments cancelled between March 24 and April 30, will be given priority when rebooking the schedule. Clients who have visited us before, but have had an appointment in the last 45 days will be considered for appointments if safety protocols allow. New clients are not being accepted at this time.

Friday, March 27, 8am – 10am

July 31st we switched from MindBody to Wellness Living as our primary scheduling software. This switch was meant to facilitate a more user-friendly experience for our clients and staff. The Wellness Living Achieve app for phones and tablets allows our clients and students to sign up for classes on the go! We are still working out a few kinks as we learn this new system, but we’re confident we’ll have the hang of it in no time! Please let us know if you have issues using the website, the app, logging into your accounts, navigating your class passes, or any other issue with the new software that we can assist you with.
We’ve got a variety of new classes, events, and workshops this month as well as the upcoming months and we continue to expand our Brunswick studio class offerings.
More details are available in our monthly newsletter (links on the home page or Facebook) or in-studio. –Neely

I logged into the website to upload our most recent newsletter and realized I had not updated the news page since last summer! That is far too long, because there is so much happening at Balance right now. I’ll try to hit the highlights, but also be sure to check out our updated class, event, and workshop schedules as well as peruse our recent newsletter. We hope we’ll see you in class in the coming weeks and that’ll you’ll join us at the Good Vibes Fest in Neptune Park on SSI on April 28th from 12-4pm. (You can check out the Golden Isles Food Truck Festival #3 before or after the Good Vibes Fest!)
Check out our Transition Notes for our joint studio venture with Golden Isles Mindful Movement.

April 29, 2018:
Since we participated in First Friday in Downtown Brunswick in April, we’ve been inundated with this question: are we opening a studio downtown?
The short answer is: maybe
We are exploring our options. We would like to have a presence downtown. We would like to have a large open studio that is accessible to more people than we can currently serve at our island studio. We want to be part of downtown’s continuing growth.
Right now, we are gathering our numbers – both financial and statistical, looking at spaces, researching funding options, talking to designers, and collaborating with other studios to find the best way to bring mindful movement to our community.
The timeline is fluid at the moment. Our island office has just a a little facelift and we plan to continue there as long as we have support – anything downtown would be an expansion of our services and classes.
This month for First Friday we are partnering with Golden Isles Mindful Movement (inside Golden Isles Ballet Company) to bring you three more mini-pop-up classes and share our combined class schedules and services. GIMM has yoga, barre, and pilates classes 3 mornings each week and 3 evenings each week – we encourage you to check out their schedule. We hope to bring more adult fitness classes to their summer line-up and create a shared class pass for both studios.
If you’re looking for Pilates or Ashtanga yoga on St. Simons, we also recommend our sister-brother-studio St. Simons Pilates & Yoga.

Our Barre class with Hillary is very popular and fills up regularly – be sure to pre-register online or through the Mindbody app to reserve your spot, add yourself to the waitlist, or receive notifications about schedule changes. The Barre schedule is in a bit of flux right now so signing up in advance is the best way to ensure you get all the updates in real-time.

Karen has ventured off onto the high seas for awhile leaving us big shoes to fill on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. We’ll have a rotation of teachers for Saturday’s Align & Flow class from now through the end of April – look for Dawn, Jen, Martha, and Joyce on the roster! Our Wednesday evening class will be a Weekly Toss Up for the next 8 weeks – look for Anatomy Tune-Up with Megan & Neely, Yin Yoga for your Chakras and Yin Yoga Nidra with Sonja, Core Flow Yoga with Martha, and Hip Openers with Jen. Check the schedule regularly for updates and other fun classes.
Join Sheri in the Mandala room for Yin Yoga Nidra on Tuesday, March 20, at 6:00pm. This will be in place of our weekly Evening Zen class on this date only.
Dawn is leading several workshops this month – sign-up for one or all! Move & Meditate with Dawn & Leah is Wednesday, March 14, 11:00-12:30pm; Balance Workshop is Wednesday, March 21, 11:00-12:30pm; and our first Yoga Teacher CE Class Teaching Inversions for Beginners is Saturday, March 24, 12:00-2:00pm.
The April Yamuna Body Rolling workshop with Kandy Duke will focus on Knees and Legs. It’s scheduled for Saturday, April 14, with time TBD.
As always, our Full Class and Event Schedule is available here. Be sure to click on the class names for full details about each one.
